The Twin Lakes, at approx. 7,000 feet are in Mono County, California. Part of the Sierra Mountain batholith, these two lakes are surrounded by granitic mountains. I took this photograph shortly after sunrise in the fall of 2008 facing in the direction of Yosemite National Park.
