This black and white photograph was taken at the Twin Lakes (approx. 7,000 ft)in Mono County, California. Part of the Sierra Mountain batholith, these two lakes are surrounded by granitic mountains. I took this photograph shortly after sunrise in autumn facing west towards Yosemite National Park.
